"The challenge of the musical theatre as director – how to combine acting, singing and movement in one aesthetic in which all three serve the story, is one I relish. Although music has played an important part in many of my productions, I haven’t directed that many so called ‘musicals’. In my desire to experiment and extend the form , music plays an important part all the work I have written and directed for family and younger audiences."
